Red Deer, AB Canada

Go see that show! But first-- listen to these guys-- Tom McRae The Destroyer and Jason Anthony Ferreira Stashko. These are two crazy guys, and their project GRADUATE, AND YOU KEEP THE COMPUTER will blow your brains out of your skull.

I'm doing a photo shoot for the band Soul Side In on Sunday at 2:00pm. If you are interested in getting your photo taken with the band please msg me on Nexopia or email Brad at Darkflame_Studios@hotmail.com or at http://bradleystation.blogspot.com.

This guy here is also crazy, but he has nothing to do with what is going on right now. He's doing something else, and I haven't talked to him since December. If anyone sees him, feel free to force feed him as much chinese buffett as you can, and bring him to talk with me.

I am ready to announce the casting call. The Darkflame Studios CASTING CALL will be from April 10th to 22nd. Acceptance will commit to six weeks of filming and rehersal of a series production and a feature film. Successful participants in the spring season will move onto a summer season which will offer wages and benefits for its cast and crew. The official announcement will be coming April 10th.

Check out Bad Fathers on myspace. I saw their video on a friend's profile, and I followed their link.

Actors Wanted

An actor develops their own unique character, no matter what role they are playing. A character moves from one play to another, and from one movie to another, as an actor grows and becomes. Robin Williams for example, aspired to more humourous roles earlier in his career; Laugh In, Popeye, The World According to Garp, Mork and Mindy-- and especially with films like Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji, and even Aladdin. But if you look closely you can tell there was a darker undertone to the stories and something deeper within the character-- and that I believe has a direct relation to why he chose to be part of those productions.

Later in his career, he did several movies that didn't receive the credit they deserved-- Insomnia, Bicentennial Man, Death To Smoochy, House of D, The Final Cut, One Hour Photo, AI, What Dreams May Come, Patch Adams, Jakob the Liar.... Through all of these movies, it's the exact same growing developing character. An actors biggest responsibility outside of their particular roles and lines, and whatever true or exaggerate reality the writer forges, its developing that personal character. Who the hell are you? And how does this particular role bring out your character?

Tell me. What's your character? Who do you aspire to be? What sorts of traits and qualities do you have, and what do you want out of this cathartic sort career? You have what it takes to be a huge star, and I know you will put yourself entirely into every production you are a part of. Why? Because that's who you are, and every single role-- good or bad, is just that. A role. Nobody will truly think of you as a particular role, but will instead remember the qualities you bring out to touch peoples hearts.

Overdue Update: March 22nd 2006

220306 - I know this is overdue and people who have read my blog lately have wondered what's been happening since my last update. There are quite a few changes and adjustments that have occurred, as well as some new news.

JUNE 30th 2006 - Movie #1 Prescreening, as well as sneak preview of Life; The Series. Featuring live musical guests Stick Figure and Camisado. Hosted by Taylor Chadwick with Comedy guest Darrell Bedford. VIP GUEST LIST-- email Darkflame_Studios@hotmail.com if you want an invite.

Darkflame Studios is the three stage development of an idea I had once about art. The premise of my idea is that art is an all-encompassing, extremely intimate experience. In this modern age where so much of our lives is based in an external representation, and even our entertainment is a detached experience—although technologies like video games and Imax theatres attempt to bring us inside the world of the production.

A much simpler way of creating a fictional reality is simply to create it in an environment and space where you can comfortably assume a role and allow your life to accept these sorts of things. Silent meditation, reading, writing, and exercises in self expression are some of the ways people can choose to open their minds to a more holistic experience of their own life.

More to come...
